Travel
Our venue is in the centre of Edinburgh, with several routes and travel connections available.
We hope this makes travel straightforward, but please do reach out if you have any travel concerns or requirements and we would be delighted to help.
Some options
-
If you are flying in, Edinburgh Airport is well-connected to the city centre.
Uber is the fastest way to get into the city. However, they can sometimes be tricky to book. It’s best to avoid the airport taxis as these can be poor quality and very expensive.
Hopping on a tram will be the cheapest option (£7.50 for a one-way ticket per person) but takes a little longer than by taxi.
You may also wish to look at flying to Glasgow and travelling through to Edinburgh, depending on flight prices.
-
Waverley Train Station is the closest train station, located less than half a mile from the College, and provides connections to London Kings Cross and Glasgow.
London to Edinburgh takes 4–5 hours (with gorgeous coastal views during the day).
Glasgow to Edinburgh takes less than an hour, with last trains usually around 23:45.
-
The nearest tram stop is located at St Andrews Square, providing frequent connections from the city centre to Edinburgh Airport in around 40 minutes.
Trams depart frequently throughout the day, from early morning into late evening.
More information about Edinburgh’s trams can be found here.
-
Metered on-street parking is available at the College’s Queen Street entrance, and in surrounding streets, at the cost of £5.60 per hour with a maximum stay of three hours between 08:30-17:30. Parking prices and times can be found here.
A Qpark multi-story car park is located behind the Omni Centre, which is approximately a 10 minute walk from the venue.
-
There is clear access directly outside the venue’s main entrance, allowing for easy drop-off and collection by car. There are also multiple taxi ranks situated within proximity to the venue.
You can also use pre-booked services, such as Uber.
-
There are several bus stops located near the venue.
-
For most people, Edinburgh is a wonderfully walkable city (as long as you like stairs).
This means, if you are staying nearby, you may not need to pay for transport to the venue.
